Having a good tidy up and respray and want to separate the black trim (that holds the BMW badge) from the painted side panel.

There’s a screw - done that and then these strange captive thingies - how can I undo these?

TIA - it’ll be beautiful when I’m done 😊

Cut them off to remove and use a suitable socket to refit

Dont try to lever them off, you will invariably break the plastic post its biting into

When you do refit them, make sure the badge is well supported and protected.

I normally put the socket on a 1/4 inch screwdriver handle and then just hit it with the palm of my hand.

if you try to take it gently you can misalign the fixing and again break the post
