Footrest brackets & rear brake caliper de greased, buffed, sanded.
Primed, silver paint & lacquered.

Last job for a few days, so the paint & laquer can dry.

Swing arm was badly corroded & had been painted at least twice ( badly ) since it left the factory in 1993.
So out with my trusty battery drills, metal rasps & emery cloth.
Took me all day to get rid of corrosion & various layers of old paint. :(

That’s dedication, perseverance and patience in spades. Your old Guzzi is going to be cleaner and tidier than my 18month old bike.

Every little helps.... :D
Rear end starting to go back together.
But as anybody who has undertaken restoration work will know putting everything back in takes ages. Especially if you do it properly, clean everything & recut all the threads.
Of course buy new would be easier it, but in my case I'm afraid not, so refurb is the way.
Rear splash gaurds back on.
Masking tape off, ready for parts to go back together.
All the stands nuts, bolts, spacers, washers sorted....

Looking good mate, its a labour of love isn't it? I remember it well with the Sunbeam, nothing beats the feeling when its done and you stand back and look at it!

Carry on!....

Way too organised......... Carry on :D

bisbee..
So many little parts, got to be tidy.
Them zip loc bags come into there own on this jobs ;)

Smudger, certainly a labour of love, definitely no financial reward.
( especially if you added the hours up )

But one fing I have which most don't is time...
2 - 4 hours a day, a few days a week in the garage is about it for my busted body.
But I luv doing it & staves off some of the endless boredom...

I admire your drive and determination hugely Ash. You truly put me to shame in that respect. Huge respect!

Now crack on there's a good chap! :beerjug:
