Bloody hands / arms were killing me after nearly 5 hours of masking up & holding the Stanley craft knife at all sorts of angles to cut masking tape..

Wow you have been a busy boy , well done it’s coming on loads now :thumb:JB

What paint you using ?

Doing these fings with a totally fused left wrist, no lift from my right arm.
And now also the right wrist is in a wrist splint / support, so no movement from that wrist also makes for fun times.
I have to get around these obstacles.
Paraesthesia in my metal pinned legs also limits standing time.
:blast

It would be much easier to just sit about & do feck all.
But I fink my limbs would be far far worse than they are with me using them.

Couldn't do without the hydraulic bike lift though & the free use of my brothers garage..
Just wish it had mains electricity..
;)

Paint wise -

Lidl Aluminium...
Superb quality..
And cost effective..

Wheels in Lidl Alloy wheel paint..

Lacquered with Hycote clear lacquer ( another quality paint )

Good job I'm not charging mesen an hourly rate :D

Doing that sort of work scares me as Im borderline incompetent in the garage (can just about manage an oil change on my little scooter), so for you to do this given your past injuries means I'm totally in awe and would love to have the confidence to do what you are doing :thumb2

For now I will watch and learn. :beerjug:

RBW.

Likewise I have read this with a mix of respect and admiration, not just for the job your doing transforming the bike but for your bloody minded attitude to stick two fingers up at the concept of letting life beat you. I applaud you Sir.

Truth be told he's just a stubborn fecker Mark. ;)

Will I never learn..
My old 1150GSA on the bike lift & then on the deck

So today as it was perfect for painting the Guzzi engine outside in the blistering sunshine.
I decided to chance my arm again, pulling the Guzzi outside on the bike lift & pumped it up in the air...

ASHLEY YOUR A TWAT... :loopy

:D

Probably 20 hours, cleaning, de greasing, sanding the engine.
5 hours masking up.
2 hours today wiping down the engine casing with panel wipe & making up a few places I missed.
3 hours painting & lacquering.

Then over 3 hours taking the making tape & newspaper off..

And most of it you won't see when the bikes complete & on the ground :blast

Nice one Ash. I remember doing the 1200sport engine in a similar manner. It was enjoyable, but a PITA and very fiddly and that was with fairly nimble fingers. Hats off to you and again a great job.
