Christ Ash, what a work you've done! You must have shares in 3M, the masking tape you've used! Suspect you'll be slowing down a bit as the weather gets parkier? Keep it up, I'm enjoying every post! :thumb

Yes slowing down now, sadly the winter isn't kind to busted bodies :(
Or painting with rattle cans. :blast
Today I was very lucky & I can only hope I get another dry, warm day when it's wheel painting time. ;)
If not it's hopefully I can do it in my mates workshop..

Masking tape was purchased via ALDI's... :thumb
( shame it can't be re used ) :D

This is what 14 yrs of a bike sat in unknown conditions.
Front tyre wouldn't hold air, now i know why heavy corrosion.
But it I'll clean up ok & go back on for now once I've cleaned the inner wheel & tyre up..

Allowy rim now deep cleaned, sanded & prepped

Ready for tyre to go back on, then mask it up, paint & laquer..

It easier for me to have the tyre back on to paint & it saves the rim / wheel paint getting scratched by the tyre fitting machine / guys.

Just my brothers sitting room radiator, when needed..:D

Plus caliper pin clean up & copper grease b4 fitting new front brake pads ..;)

They were seized in, that's what endless years of the bike being stored in unknown conditions does.
Disc pads were also well in there. :(

Was going to really polish them. ;)
But taking the forks out during this cold weather would be a tad to much for me.
( hands can't take cold objects ) ( or hot objects for that matter ) :tears

Maybe if I keep the bike then in warmer weather, I might dismantle the front end...
And set about them with my polishing kit.. :)

I can only do a couple of hours in the warmer days in the garage now winter has arrived.
Just glad I got this far b4 the weather turned..

Front brake pipe & old dirty brake fluid. :(

Old u/s fluid on left side of 3rd piccy.
New fluid right side, first piccy.
And the kitchen roll sheet i used to clean out the front reservoir.
2nd piccy close up of used fluid...yuk yuk yuk..

1st piccy is the old rubber brake pipe & new Stainless braided brake pipe I've just had made for me.

50mm longer incase I keep the bike, i can fit Rox antivibration risers on it.

£35 & made up while I waited..:)

If yer going to do it.
Do it reet, especially where brakes are concerned..

That's the whole brake system done in braided stainless steel now... :thumb
