Saw my first one on the road yesterday in the orange at Ludlow. A fine looking machine, back to basics biking without any fancy electronics and should definitely by on the list for anybody who is looking at a retro style bike. The finish looked good, I know time will tell, and it sounded good as well with the reverse cone megaphones. Well done RE I hope it is a success which it should be for £5500. :thumb2

I thought both models looked good value for money when we saw them at the Birmingham Show. Still need proving as yet though.

Still, for just a tad more, you could buy a classic 1960s original - depends what you want out of biking.

An old mate of mine, also occasionally on here lurking, is greedy enough to own 4. Well once you have restored one, the rest come easy ...... HA HA.

I popped in Haywards in Cambridge a couple of weeks ago for a gander. I thought some of the finish was questionable, particularly the silencer brackets. Better off with a W series Kawasaki if you want retro I reckon.

You just reminded me of a good Phil the Greek moment ............... https://www.theguardian.com/uk/1999/aug/11/monarchy.gerardseenan

Probably a few gobby welds around too, but still a worthy looking bike by any measure. Anyway, there have been plenty of paint quality gaffs from the Mothership too.

I rode one for a couple of hours round the Cotswolds in the week.
The gear box was very smooth, engine pulled very cleanly.
Overall a very pleasant ride. Great value for money with 3 years warranty. And v cheap service costs.
The Cotswold dealer has sold 12 so far!
Quality of the mirror glass wasn't to clear and I guess some brackets may not be of the best quality but for a 2nd bike I'd say well done RE.

Sat on one at the bike show in Lyon a week ago, to be honest I was a bit disappointed, it looked better in photos

I know it’s cheap but unfortunately it looks and feels it

Bit of a shame

I like that, but for me it would be the Continental GT. Really like the look of those and I think they’d suit a period nose cone race fairing.

Was parked up on the mountain road in the Elan Valley yesterday and heard a big twin coming along; it was a 19 plate
Interceptor. It sounded and looked very well. I was on my 18 plate Royal Enfield Himalayan which, after 1600 miles, i am
still loving :D :thumb2

Saw a couple at the London bike show. The ali kick plate near the footrests on both was sharp enough to take a thumb off an inattentive polisher

Was at Arden Motorcycles, Alcester today to get the GSA MOT'd and as I arrived there was an RE 500 Bullet just having the MOT finished. I got talking to the owner, a mere 80 year old!, and he told me he has ordered an Interceptor from Blockley (I think that is the Cotswold dealer) and he also has a 350 Bullet and a Bonneville (the modern one) in his fleet. He did say that the Bonneville is a bit heavy for him now - what a lovely old chap and I hope I'm still enjoying my biking when I hit 80 (if I do:blast).

Heard it through the grapevine that they will be bringing out a scrambler type version of the 650 in the next 18 months , interesting pair on bike exif website of a pair built with aid of Royal Enfields design team and the artists impressions of a production model look really nice especially if they end up at the £6000 ish price range

Saw this in the dealership near me the other day. Continental GT 650.
Because the Interceptor is such a new model I wasn't sure if this was one,
or the dealership has dressed an Interceptor and named it Continental GT.

I wouldn't take too much notice of the raves - temper it against the amount of advertising that RE place across the 'Emap' titles.

Good post Arsey; well i'am in nobody's pocket and have had a little look and ride on my mates; and can say the fit and finish is good; and the feel good ride factor is V good; for £5500 it's exceptional; and that's not just my opinion.:beerjug:
