Unlikely but as it has two wheels I thought it might be nice to show off my new steed. Any knowledge that might be useful, please feel free to share.
So having had three Gas Gas 200 EC’s I thought I should opt for a 300 EC and enjoy the benifits of torque etc. Husqvarna was also on my radar as the latest bikes have some great technical mods.
A quiet stroll around my local Yamaha dealership on the out skirts of Chichester and I happened across this rather nice 2017 YZ250 LC. The Chief mechanic had raced it in Hare and Hounds, plus a few Enduros during 2018 and achieved some very good results.
Okay so it is old technololgy, but tried and tested and at my level I’m really not going to notice the benifits of spending another 4K on a spanking new machine. So a 2017 moto x bike converted to Enduro spec (shy of the 18” rear) and also registered with the DVLA during 2018, plus fitted with a tasty full Fresco exhaust system, KYB lovely and plush suspension, a heavier fly wheel and change of power valve spring, plus some other mods, has in theory provided me with a perfectly suitable bike for my needs.
I’ve not had the greatest of luck buying off road bikes privately, so a local Yamaha dealership on my door step will be very useful. While I’m about it I’d like to rave about the ‘team’ at Chichester Yamaha. I’ve never been greeted or made to feel so welcome. The owner gave me an FOC drink and a friendly chat, while offering some constructive thoughts on my search for an off road tool. There was never any pressure and I was left to mooch around the shop and mull over my thoughts.
The next day I handed over the debit card and made a few other purchases. Darren set the sag height and made a few changes to the front end and finally it ended up in the back of the van, off to a new home, but sadly never to be in this immaculate state ever again.
Thanks to all at Yamaha Chichester. A great bunch of people and as far as buying from a Dealership goes, the best experience I have had bar none.
P.s. sorry about the pics, but at least the tyres area sticky.
P.p.s Hopeing to ride this Sunday and if I’m lucky I might be able to complete a few laps with out having a heart attack. Fitness is a consern
