    Bike friendly digs near Arras

Looking to take a short break in northern France next weekend - anyone got any recommendations for bike friendly accommodation, ideally in and around Arras - particularly for secure parking for the GS.

    Cheers

There are plenty of hotels both in the town centre and on the outskirts and some, in town, with underground secure parking.

Been there a few times now.

Look on Booking.com and add parking to your filter.

    Arras is lovely.

look at https://www.logishotels.com/en/ which has many rural hotels - most have a decent restaurant specialising in local food. Few will have secure parking compounds but most will allow you to park by reception. Your anxiety is unwarranted in my view: there are very few theft reports on this forum for the whole of France and even fewer away from the urban areas.

The IBIS is not far from the Grand Place, where there is good underground parking. Plenty of decent restaurants around too.

If you have the time, take a trip & the tour out to the Vimy Ridge Canadian Memorial. A very moving reminder.

Hotel Mercure. Underground parking, quiet, close to centre (Grand Place and Place des Heros) and on the routes in and out of Arras. Taxis at the bottom of the street near the train station.

We always use Hotel Moderne, there is a bike park outside, it is a busy place near the station, we just use a big lock

Stoped here a couple of years ago, very central but also very secure with locked gates at night.

    La Cour des Carmes

    You’ll find in on booking.com

Thanks guys, I’ve ended up booking at L’Oliviere just outside Arras which has secure bike parking - recommend by a friend.

Hopefully will be good, I’ll update if it’s any good after we get back.

Also update if it’s really really bad, too.

All the online reviews are certainly good. But who trusts those? Nobody here, apparently.
