Small “at fault” parking ding the other day in my Hilux.

Now I have other policies from other insurers for bikes and a motorhome and I’ll no doubt have to trawl through their policies for a definitive answer but in general are you obliged to inform other insurers mid-term of an accident not related to the policy they've issued.

Obviously I know I’ll have to declare at next renewals and they’ll take my trews down.

Cheers.

3rd party involved ?

Sadly yes, no damage for me to claim for so no excess to pay but he sustained bonnet / grill damage from my underrun bar.

I offered to pay for it but the knob insisted on going through his insurers, it was a knackered 2005 Zafira so they may have written it off....so I had to inform mine.

You will be asked for the settlement figure by the other underwriters or brokers. I would wait until the claim is settled and you have formal notification of this which might take you up to the renewal time for some of the other policies.
