Not the cheapest but very efficient, flexible, answer the phone and reply to questions in writing within a reasonable time period.

I have a pretty complex multi-vehicle policy, bikes, cars, motorhome and a vintage car, all on one policy. I live in central London with not the greatest post code, E1. Two of the cars sit on the street, another is away from home. The motorhome sits in a private livery stable (you try getting a call centre chimp to understand that) and the vintage car, irreplaceable one might argue, has a value considerably greater than the whole lot added together. The vintage car has been undergoing complete restoration, Hiscox were able to insure the pieces, recognising that the value of the vehicle increases as the restoration nears completion.

Be polite with them and they will do their best to help you. To be honest, they do not get out of bed for premiums as low as some we see on these pages but why should they, they don’t need to. But give them something meaningful or tricky to insure (multi, mixed vehicle is not ‘easy’, I’d suggest) and they might well prove to be good. If nothing else, they are free to talk to and all speak English.

Bravo
I have found them very good too

When I sold my KTM enduro bike, 6 months into the policy - they refunded me £100 (20% of the original premium cost) and no bloody 'admin' fees, refund was instant and no quibble

Top service

Got a quote just now for a classic car, will probaly go with it when restoration complete, includes european recoverory:thumb

They specialise in ‘Classic’ vehicle insurance, for sure.

A friend of mine does his Household insurance through Hiscox. He has found them excellent for the couple of claims he’s had. Absolutely no quibbling, complete acceptance of to the circumstances behind the claim, along with authority given (then and there) to get the repairs done and send in the bills. It’s all you want, really.

It is, simple old fashioned service (I like that bit)
Easy to talk to
No BS
Bit like NFU Mutual who do my house and 4 wheel vehicle insurance

Just had my renewal 'invitation' (nice parlance and I like the cut of their jib) after 1 year with RH/Hiscox/ERS

What I do like is their 'plain english' in the paperwork and everything laid out and up front - the sign of a good business in my eyes

All very fair and equitable and the invitation is £20 cheaper than last year too - so I shall be renewing

I would have (not using the preposition of incorrectly as a verb) renewed if they were more expensive too, as I like the way they operate
