Germany, divided into four quarters, based on the cardinal points of the compass, lifted straight from a German touring magazine, available on Readly.

Use the Tourcode links to display the routes (see other posts)

A useful set of ideas for touring Germany - The German Motorcycle Route

Another way of finding the four routes:

https://www.motorradstrassen.de/touren/motorradstrasse-deutschland

From dancing around in these you can find how to display the individual route segments In Kurviger, each segment aligned with the individual segments making up each of the four maps.

For example:

You can then download each segment from Kurviger to make a route as long or as short as you like.

cheers mate - I seem to be over there several times a year.....

BTW stayed at that place in Marre near Verdun, Le Village Gaulois, for a few nights a couple of weeks ago - very nice - thanks for the pointer.

You might want to try this place ...................................... I have stayed here a few times now, always good, stayed a few weeks ago and I will be there again in June.

Eifel Hotel Haus West

P.S. They have a garage if you must for a few bikes to fit in, they leave you in the bar and go to bed! Once the other guests have gone to bed the bar staff get out the ashtrays and schnapps!

My thanks to Redboots (John) for a PM. The website keeps getting better.

Here’s a translation of the principle behind the websites:

Motorcycle Road Germany - MSD

The adventure route and its regions

The aim of the MSD is to connect all relevant motorcycling routes of Germany via four major sub-routes and to guide the rider on attractive motorcycle routes to his destination region. There he will be provided by the tourist and hotel partners of the MSD with tour materials to the region, that in addition to the most beautiful tours he also presents the motorcycle and cultural highlights of the region.

The MSD is one of the tourist routes of the German National Tourist Board e.V.

Here’s a link to the official German tourist office site, mentioned above:

Having gone to a lot of trouble to create the routes, motorbikes do not seem to be on the home page. Putting ‘motorbike’ into the home page’s search box does turn it up:

https://www.germany.travel/en/leisure-and-recreation/scenic-routes/german-motorbike-route.html

I am much encouraged by:

The German Motorbike Route takes pole position in any biker's itinerary: exceptional curved roads are here in abundance and are a true delight for any thrillseeker. This route for all bike fans requires skilled driving and a foot that's firmly on the accelerator.

I’ll tell PC Schultz that when he starts to write out my ticket.

PS As an aside and to maybe avoid enriching the German state’s coffers, this might be interesting:

I'll be honest; I don't think I can get my foot on the throttle very easily these days.

Great website find though. Germany is raising its profile as a potential tour for next year.

It’s closer than Spain and larger than France.

I enjoyed my lap of Germany, made in September, a couple or so years ago. Many of the rural roads, away from the autobahns, make France look busy. Use the recommendations from Kurvenkoenig and other similar sites with confidence.

I also like their somewhat over excited exclamations in English, for which I guess there is no direct translation in the German of the rest of a magazine’s article. ‘Rolling heaven!’ ‘Let’s ride!’ ‘Cool passages’ are popular.

Prefer Germany to France

Roads are spot on and some really good ones in the arable areas, where you wouldn't expect good biking routes - well surfaced and deserted

.................... and I like the Germans at home more than I like the French anywhere!
