Rode this home today.

Well, the paint code was definitely N1K. Ordered rattle cans from Germany and did the job last night. Not too bad, although some small stray hairs from somewhere settled on the surface when I was about halfway through... I know I should have sanded it down and started again, but there was no guarantee it wouldn't happen again!

By the way, when the cover was off, I noticed two electrical connections: the first is obviously for the brake light accessory you can get, but the other exits under the backrest pad. Anyone know what that's for?

Central locking is already connected, but pad heating makes sense. Good call! I wonder if BMW do a heated backrest pad... Better not let the missus know it’s a possibility!

I fitted top and bottom Wunderlich bars, and they did not look out of place (in my opinion)

No, they look good. The Wunderlich bars I fitted to the R1250RT weren't the greatest of fits, but they got there in the end.
