Brits in Brittany..

We were recommended a restaurant called The Cyclist which was just set back slightly from the main marina. The food was great and very reasonably priced... Pizza's eaten along with a few more beers and we were ready to walk it off around town...

It around about this time that Jon started clucking... Earlier in the evening he'd seen someone eating a waffle with banana, nutella and ice cream and he wanted one. We walked around all over town and eventually his wish came true and his waffle was available for him...

Of course Tyrone and I couldn't let him eat alone so purely out of support for him we had a go as well...

That was pretty much it for the evening.. We did move the bikes a little earlier so that they were directly under our window. A good move as it turned out in the morning....

The following morning we woke to the sound of torrential rain!! The first we'd seen all week and it was also bloody cold, thank god we'd decided to stay in an apartment for the last night.. It wasn't a great ride to La Havre, only 12 km away but in driving rain and high winds some of the bridge crossing were 'interesting' to say the least...

Waiting to board in La Havre..

All in all a great trip, we've been to France now a few times and maybe next year we'll think about somewhere else but there's always something that draws us back...

Thanks for takeing the time to put this together, great read, great photos top job cheers :thumb

Just come across this .... what a great little trip and write up ...super photos with lots of cooking, tents, and Jack Daniels .. what more would the GS forum want ? Well done you lot and thank you for taking the time to post !! :)

Enjoyed that.
It just proves that you don't have to go very far from the ports to enjoy what France has to offer. You mentioned avoiding tolls. There are no road tolls in Brittany. The motorways are free. I believe the local Government decided that this would be the case to encourage tourism. Thanks for posting.:thumb2
