Got the trusty Airhead back on the trails for the first time this year :thumby:
A lot more muddy than i thought it would be
I have not rode this track for a few years and could not believe how much the 4x4's had cut it up
Caught my mate out big time...But a good laugh :beerjug:
I had forgot just how good the old bike was offroad :D

Looks bolloxed that trail

Yep Johnny 4X4's must be responsible for getting a lot of trails shut !
I used to ride this trail a few years ago 2 up on a standard R100GS no problem

Its not even necessarily 4x4's per se, but it certainly IS the idiots that dont know how to drive them or moderate their speed or throttle input in muddy conditions and wilfully f**k it up for everybody else.

Back in the day on my fathers farm we had a BOAT across one of the fields and as the off road craze started to kick off, regularly used to see 4x4's travelling 60-70 mph across the field with HUGE mud rooster trails - in the end there was a 4 foot Somme channel dug the entire length which meant we couldn't get farm machinery across the channel and essentially lost about 30% of the fields production. We did occasionally ask them to slow down etc, but they were so hyper aggressive "ONE LIFE - LIVE IT!!!!!!!!!!" types we were wasting our breath. In the end I dumped 5 ton of rotting seed potatoes either end and cut it off for a year to break their habit, which it did, kind of. (That and the later locked livestock "please obtain keys from the farmhouse" gates)

Same problem here, the four wheel drive guys are making such a mess of our gravel back lanes that the councils are barring them off, usually with a padlocked level crossing type barrier.
Luckily the padlocks are master keyed so emergency services can open them, and I still have MKs from my days in the construction industry----.

But not much mud here in the driest state in the driest continent, just had our first decent rain of the year, 80 mm so far this week, so will have to dig out the wet weather gear!
