Hiya,

A cheeky Monday run to Wales and planning to stay over 1 night. Prefer a pub with accomodation, good food and real ale if possible so wondering if anyone has any recommendations. May head further south than Aberystwth and even as far as Tenby so if anyone can recommend somewhere nice please feel free.

Many Thanks

The Royal Oak at Rhandirmyn fits all of your requirements, with the added bonus of fantastic roads and scenery straight out of the door. Head up the valley and around Llyn Brianne, you will not be disappointed.

Y Talbot, Tregaron

I had the black pudding scotch egg there last Sunday afternoon and it was lovely.

Rode the Devils Staircase to get there and then the Elan Valley to Rhayader for the feeding of the Red Kites after. Pretty much the perfect day out on the bike.

That's kinda my loose plan and route at the moment. Following the weather to be honest and mid Wales looked best a day or so ago but final check and route plan today, set of tomorrow. Also have the Lakes, and Yorkie dales as options but mid to South Wales looks most promising at the moment.

3 of us stayed in the Neuadd Arms in Llanwrtyd Wells at Easter which is just a few miles east of the Devil's Staircase. Pub with rooms and its own brewery. Gives you another option if you do not go as far west as the coast.

We did a loop around Usk Reservoir, Black Mountain then over a pass I had not done before with superb views of Carreg Cennen Castle, then Llyn Briane to Talgarth and back via Cwmystwyth & Elan Valley https://goo.gl/maps/nKhxjcFLtb5MUwUn8

If you want a route south from Shropshire then reverse this route we did to get a BBQ at a friend's in Gobowen https://goo.gl/maps/GaJAwAufWYdpwrJq5

and this is the route we took from our meeting place near Usk https://goo.gl/maps/qGhWCXvvVSgmASr3A

All planned and ready to go. Thanks guys, once again the help received from you all has been invaluable.

Decided we wanted to be near the sea so ended up booking The Monachty so will sit outside tomorrow evening and raise a pint to you all. Cafe next door for meal so many thanks Wessie for the suggestion.

The Y Talbot was a very close second and the Royal Oak also looks bang on and will keep in mind for next time. The Cambrian way had no vacancies but looks stunning.
