Oh well inadvertently tested that the fuel computer isn’t accurate tonight, shows as 38 miles left to go and last segment on display but ran out after 283 miles bone dry.

At least I know what it does now to a tank fairly accurately

Could this be a fuel strip issue or in that circumstances the gauge simply doesn’t work?

I've had several BMW bikes conk out with "40 miles" left. Seems like 40 is the magic number.

I thought mine was reasonably accurate. On a recent trip I did a 300 mile journey home, the clock was showing a range of 21miles after covering the 300, I filled up using 24 litres of fuel, so I'd guess its about 10 mile inaccurate. Not bad considering I usually fill up when the light comes on at 50 miles. 2011 TC by the way.

Cheers for the reply’s, yes 40 seems to be the number. BMWSim mine is the last of the single cam and last of the fuel strip models, believe your twin cam is different.
