The front engine cover on my new RT has already picked up marks which won't polish out. OK, they're very minor, but the bike has only covered 504 miles! I'll mention it when I take it in for its first service (hopefully this week). What do you think the response will be?

I cant see them doing much about it,BMW are renowned for not warranting their paintwork,Get an Avant fenda extenda from Nippy Normans to save anymore chips or scratches.

I think you're right. I'll check whether the fenda extenda fits - there's a new "fairing" at the bottom of that cover and the gap between it an the mudguard looks small.

Simonize bug and tar remover, Meguiars Gold Wash, Tesco car polish. I take the point about the upper marks (hence using the bug and tar remover), but the lower ones (by the BMW name) look as if the clear coat has pitted.
