Does anyone know what way the con rods face on a r1150gs....
I understand that the pistons have an orientation mark under the skirt that is to face the exhaust side.
But I can't find any marks on the rods to indicate what way they face ??
The manual also gives no indication of rod orientation.
I did take note of what rod was on the left and what rod was on the right but not what way they face on the crank??
Seems that they may be symmetrical and its of no consequence.

Thanks in Advance

I can’t answer your specific question but if they have a machined locating slot for the cleat on the bearing then yes it probably matters.

These will usually go on the non thrust side of the crank, get the proper info and do it right, don’t trust a bloke on the internet unless you know he knows!!!!

Thanks Pekkavee

That information is for a R1100GS not an R1150GS

Thanks Guys for all the info but.....................
The rods don't have any lettering on any side of the rod (the rods are cracked parting line not machined parting line) R1150GS 2001
The only marks on the rods are 2 x nondescript marks on one side and one on the other side
