    I hear ya, but i did say a few posts up that I used a couple of those aluminium wind breaks as a more solid (and less burny) table top - dual purpose, innit?

    The metal ones you mention look a bit bulkier as well, but no more expensive.

    Just stick a table place mat under it and it’ll double up as a chopping board and slide down inside the pannier no probs
