It’s apparently the UK’s most dreadful road. Here is how to avoid it, in the local tongue:

Just avoid the A9 eh?

Go North up the West coast, preferably avoiding Glesca by taking a Clyde ferry. Alternatively, take Mway to Perth and then North via Blairgowrie, Glenshee, Braemar, the Lecht , Grantown, Nairn and Inversneckie (Inverness).

All us natives ken that fine!.....

NB: none may pass but they call in to pay homage and respect (and toll fee in malt whisky) to Gerard McGerard of that ilk, Laird o Glenshee. :hrh

Had to get recovered from Dunbeath once all the way down to London courtesy of the AA after the front fell off the bike (ferry damage) and the recovery driver took great delight in pointing out every motorbike crash site and casualties all the way down the A9 as well as shouting at people carrying fridges on their backs for charity.

So my advice from this thrilling dit is use the RAC and don’t bother carrying a fridge from lands end to John O as it’s already been done

Was up in Inverness a couple of weeks ago. North via Callander, Fort Bill, Great Glen to Inverness. South via Tomintoul, Breamar. Awesome :)
