On my 2014 LC the grips are getting a bit worn. If anyone has changed theirs, what is involved?

grip puppies from day one, originals as new and a way more pleasant ride

You can easily change them unless you buy the whole grip. I changed them on my S1000R and it required shaving them off with a razor blade. The clutch side was easy but the throttle side had to be shaved off a little at a time. Can be done though

If you want to do the shave method, and use after market grips, you will need two sets as both sides use only the throttle grip as its bigger

Doesn't shaving them off leave a layer of the old grips in place, otherwise I guess you will damage the heating elements with the blade.
Can they not be peeled off by a shallow cut along their length and then splitting them from one end to remove the whole grip?

You have to be careful yes but it works perfect in the end

+1 for grip puppies which I find have several advantages. Firstly they are just more comfortable to grip once you get used to them. Secondly they moderate the heat from the overly hot heated grips, making the two settings both more usable. The third advantage is that it takes less effort to hold open a fatter throttle as it gives your hand more leverage. I'm not a big fan of cruise control, and I find this is enough to eliminate the muscle pain I used to get in my right hand and arm on long journeys.

I had thought about these but wasn't too sure. Don't they get soggy when it rains?

also you can just apply them over the damaged grips without messing with them, did that on an earlier bike with no problems

I've just ordered a pair of the Gripskinz, thanks for the advice. Being waterproof sounds to be a good idea and I also like that they are "military grade", whatever that means.

I hope they solve your problem. You will need to trim to length so you just need to take care to cut them squarely. I wet the inside of mine with some soapy water (made with a little washing up liquid) and found that turning the outside inch or so inside out made it easier to push them fully on, after which the last part could be folded right way out again. They may slip a little until they dry out.

It means they're as cheap as the Procurement gnome could possibly find but then become disproportionately more expensive as a fortune is spent on packaging.

They will soon be superceded by the more expensive military grade 'TACTICAL' version

In my opinion do not give it a go I tried on my r1200gs lc and the rubber is bonded to the grips and one ended up not working. Read my thread if you can find it and it may be cheaper to find some good 2nd hand one and fit them. Your choice of course let us all know how you get on.
