Mods on a 1290T

I simply put a decal on the front mudguard:

....a less expensive alternative to a black mudguard

It does work as I kept the original mudguard; although if the black mudguard is already in situ, you could always get a decal to match

I would imagine it wouldn't be too expensive to do that.
(KTM should have done it)

It's alright for you riding it, you can't see it . What about the poor yawning onlookers? :D
