Heading down to the Black Forest next week and will be visiting Lake Constance.Any of you lads been maybe places to visit.
Thanks

All I can say is it will be quite busy down there, school holidays from 11/06 till 21/06 already seen so many caravans and camping cars heading that way..........

The roads around the lake can be miserable when they're busy.

The Germans don't like filtering either.

There last week en route to Austria. Unless there is something specific you want to see my advice is avoid!

Thanks lads,I will take a look and if its to busy we will ride onto somewhere else

id avoid the main road around the lake in bust periods alot of it is 30 mph and very slow moving traffic, with not alot of overtaking areas...if its hot weather its a nightmare in the bike gear at these speeds and as one post above says its very norti to filter in germany ...if you are stopped its a fine

A few years back we stayed in Romanshorn, absolutely lovely down by the water but that is on the Swiss side, on the other side, the ride down to Lindau is the worlds biggest ballache.

Traffic ghastly along the B31 north shore, as others have said, but it's effect rather depends where you are based. We usually stay down on the lake at Immenstaad am Bodensee, the Hotel Seehof.

You can always take a few boat trips instead. Lindau makes for a pleasant stop, or try the Zeppelin Museum at Friedrichshafen.

Out on the bike, we like the rides around the Ober Donau. Head to Tuttlingen, then east along the Danube (Donau) valley. If you cut north up the Barental, you can ride over the high massif & rejoin the valley, then on to Sigmaringen. Popular with the German bikers, but make sure you are fully fuelled up as availability is limited in agricultural areas. If you enjoy wandering around historic churches, then the lavish Baroque interiors at Zwiefalten & Weingarten are worth seeing. For a slightly longer excursion, try Rot a d. Rot, just west of Memmingen, then Ottobeuren, to the south-west of M - the Abbey Church is spectacular & the town makes for a nice stop too, with a great Pizzeria just below the Abbey or a Brewhouse further downtown.

Have a good trip.

Thanks. We are actually stopping at camping Lagenwald in Baden Baden for a nearly a week before riding up to Chochem.Looked at lake Constance and looked a good place for a ride round.
