So after another fantastic days riding we arrived at the Pitlochry Hydro Hotel at around 1430. Plenty of time to get checked in, relax and enjoy the facilities at the hotel (Pool, spa etc). The hotel is lovely although inside feels a little 'tired' and could do with a spruce up. Having said that the cost for the both of us was the same as the previous night at the Torguish (90.00 for the 2 of us) so good value for money. Parking for the bike was no problem as they allowed us to leave it almost outside the front door...

And that brings us up to date, i'm now sat in the hotel lounge writing this before we head to breakfast. Today we head to Edinburgh where we are staying at the Aaron Lodge, recommended by the chaps at MotoGoLoco (also known as Dave from the Buccleuch B&B in Moffat)...

The route we're taking today takes us from Pitlochry to the Tummel Bridge and on to Aberfield. From there we pick up the A826 heading south to Crieff, Dunfirmline over the Firth on the Forth and on to Edinburgh. Shouldn't be too long a ride and we'll hope to get to the hotel by around 1400ish so we can go out and do the tourist thing in Edinburgh...

That'll be Aberfeldy, Dunfermline and the Firth of Forth :blast. Otherwise, I've enjoyed the write-up :thumb

If the Aaron Lodge was recommended then I guess it's got decent security for the bike, bearing in mind the recent tales of bike theft in the city.

I thought that hotel looked familiar, as we stayed at Torguish House in 2011. Great bunch of people. :thumb

Think i’ll be alright, this is the view from my window!!!

Cheers Dave, they got that right. We rode through some of the worst rain I’ve ever experienced yesterday. HEAVY and sustained for around 45 mins but again the Badlands Pro and Erika’s Streetguard did their job keeping us both dry..The only part of us that got wet (unbelievably) was the inside of our lids!!! Mainly due to the neck warmers getting wet and soaking it all up!!
Anyway, looking at the weather this morning I think we’re over the worst of it, we’re heading south to Peebles this morning then on to Yarrow for our final night in Scotland. Tomorrow we head down to the Yorkshire Dales again before stopping at Doncaster (visiting family) and aiming to be home Thursday evening...

We only had 1 wet day on our trip, can live with that:cool:

Ride safe and enjoy the end of your trip

Yep you did well and delighted you have enjoyed your time up here, it really is magical at times.

We’ve loved every second of it Cabby, even the rain yesterday and will be coming back to explore more of it again... Just stopped in Peebles now for a coffee before heading south...

First time i ever stayed at the Pitlochry Hydro i paid £110 for 4 nights all inclusive which was a bit of a bargain and the irony is it was originally built as a temperance hall !

I do believe it is now owned and run by coast and country hotels group who do old folk coach trips

Stayed there a couple of years ago as a base for 3 nights on DBB basis and it was still good value although as you say it could do with some re furb but still a decent gaff
