Looking at a 2010 R1200RT (twin cam) that looks in lovely condition with 26K on, but noticed a bit of corrosion on the rear hub.

Is this just aesthetic, and is it easy to resolve (or even necessary) ?

My 2010RT has the exact same. I had it powder coated and it came back a year later. It's totally normal, wish it wasn't but it just seems like a bit of a design flaw and water can get underneath the paint there no matter what the owner does.

Major areas to look for other than that are the footpeg hanger plates and the front forks which are prone to bubbling on the 2010 as it is still the old fashioned non-anodised version. Some people have complained of issues on the engine front cover however I've never had issues, probably down to early fitment of a fender extender.

Mines now ticked over 54k and has been ridden in all weathers and ultra reliable.
