Hi for those who don't know me I'm Luke and I like with shocks
I was trying for a long time to get this done!
It's possible! So I would like to share this with you.
Should we start with before and after ...

That’s interesting, as they are not supposed to be serviceable. If you have found away of servicing them successfully, then you could be on to something. I swapped mine over to Ohlins last October, so now, I’m wondering what to do with the Sachs, as they are just sitting in my storage cave. I will be watching this thread with interest, as I’m sure others will be too.

Have you had any feed back from people that have had their’s done ?

Interesting. Do you have any more info on your services? I suspect the shocks on my GS may be starting to go off now at 29K miles. Mind you, the engine went off yesterday :blast

From what I have read, servicing the shocks is not the problem it’s getting any non generic parts if something fails. The only place Ive heard of that can source parts is Tractive but it would be good if there is a more local uk repair option.

The OP is in the UK............and can surely source the parts

That’s good to know. Undoubtably I will need use of it at some point as I will likely keep my gs for a good few more years.

Rebuild ESA Sachs shock

I had my rear ESA shock rebuilt by firefoxracing ltd in Keighley in West Yorkshire, took less than a week from sending off to being returned, about £250, still going strong.

So time is flying by...
I was waiting for some time to write this post.
Manage to fix a couple of other units, improve a couple of things, get all my parts and supply organized.
All my work was road tested for 5K+ miles without any issue so I can now say them shocks are fully rebuildable front and rear!!!
One interesting fact...
The front shock comes without dust seal as standard... (Sealed on the picture) currently working to improve that.
Most of the repairs done in 48h.
All the shocks are vacuum filled so no air remains in the shock body.
Spring upgrade cost £70-75 on average.
And like always to keep the costs down shock repair, new spring, and postage both ways should cost less than 250.
Any questions just ask...

Filed for when my shocks need refreshing.

Anyone noticed that BMW appear to be using ZF shocks on new machines in the showroom?

I’m sure I will be a customer at some point. Of those you have done is there a common failure part ( seal etc) and mileage ?

This time short version of the Sachs...
The actual difference between the standard and low is the 7mm nylon spacer and 7mm shorter spring.
The shock was leaking and didn't have any pressure.
I think the last 3 shocks came with zero nitrogen pressure. Corrosion under reservoir o-ring is the main reason.
