Hi,Taking the Mrs for a trip round the Black Forest and looking for a bike friendly b&b or hotel to stay at if anyone has stayed in or around the surrounding area ?..I camped at camping Lagenwald the other week and she doesn't do camping and they have no lodges available which is a shame as it was a nice place.
Cheers Chris

Try Bad Peterstal- nice Spa village

I have used the Hirsch before and there are other good hotels

About 10-15 miles from Freudenstadt

In reality there are 10's of hotels all over the area to suit every budget

I usually just park up and ask if they have rooms, have a look at them if available and then stop if I am happy

Over the years, some of the best gems have been found by pot luck

As a couple you shouldn't have a problem finding a room at all

Just let the spirit of Adventure take over

Bike friendly ? Why?

All are receptive to bikes, crime is low and plenty of bikes just left on pavements overnight

I don't get the bike friendly moniker - some of the best ones I have found have been just normal hotels and you can arrive by car/bus/train/bicycle or motorcycle....nobody cares one jot

I normally avoid 'bike friendly'

Cheers Johnny.Bike friendly as I have been turned away from places before for being a biker. Not saying in Germany though.

Cheers Johnny.

Bike friendly as I have been turned away from places before for being a biker.

Not saying in Germany though.

Never had that once in Europe and certainly Germany love people on bikes

As a couple on a bike you will be welcomed with open arms

Everywhere is friendly

Only place I was ever turned away was at a campsite near Asheville, North Carolina. I asked if there was a discount as I didn't need electrical hook-up for my tent. Suddenly, he said he was full and turned us away! Inbred rednecks!

Doc Gasthof zum bad is awesome, it is like going back in time, typically German Black forest, it is just on the edge of town, so you can walk in to town, and the food was really good last time there, it is not the cheapest, but anything in Freudenstadt is not cheap in the summer, get it booked quick or it will be full as most place are specially in August, PS they only re-open on the 10th July they have been on holiday for a month.

And so the list goes on and on and on, it seeming like every hotel is happy to see a bod and his wife on their mototorbike.

All found by Googling ‘biker hotels freudenstadt’, just three words which Google takes to spit out loads of ideas to suit every pocket and taste. By way of simple comparison, the opening post had roughly 60 words.

With the exception of the campsite at the side of Lake Titissee who don’t like bikes. Tossers ;)
