GS slayed.........

But what about those who had more power but made the switch for something with less ?

Few go for less power and same size / weight, I get the smaller / lighter thing....

...but has anyone gone to the trouble of finding a way to reduce the power of their 1200cc adventure bike?

Oddly many spend a fortune just to add weight, perhaps that is their way of slowing it down.

I didn't know there was a beauty competition for bikes.

Anyway, all well and good but what does the track performance mean for me? Very few of us ever use 10/10s of the capability of the bike and a track comparison of traily bikes is about as useful as wooden tits.

And the only traily type bikes that ever lifted a wheel when overtaking a car was a KTM 1190 and 1290 SA-T. Never ridden the Duc because it looks utterly uncomfortable to me. So the more power it has the more exiting it can be. The BMW GS is and will always be a touring bike. It has its own niche and BMW is not in a hp competition with other manufacturers in this class. KTM is and always will be a competition manufacturer, competing, it is in their DNA. The ergonomics are not perfect but the chassis is very good. 2-up = BMW, alone = KTM, excitement = KTM, comfort and ergonomics = BMW, ownership costs and brand experience = well that depends on the owner himself and is as individual as an arse. You pays your money, you make your choice.

Just spent anothet week touring Northern Spain and I'm afraid that for me your comment about the GS being more comfortable and less ergo is simply rubbish!

My old GSA (14 LC) had my wife asking for the Airhawk after 2 hours and I wasn't far behind that length of time needing one too. I took them to Spain and neither of us used the things once all week! 6 1/2 hrs on the last day - that's a very long time for my girl.

I do have the ergo seats and 20mm risers.

Just realized that I'm only 75kg. That's my argument destroyedIMG_2743.jpg

They need therapy as soon as possible before this mental inclination spreads to others. Next thing Triumph sales will start to increase
