Strange coughing

On my 01 efi twin cam. Sometimes when holding a steady speed around seventy the motor will cough once, out of nowhere. Must be something to do with fuel mixture I think. Any thoughts appreciated.
 
The early EFI had Magneti Marelli injection system which wasn't the best. later models had Delphi system which is more reliable. I know a lot in our club have converted to carburettors.

No, I've never owned a Twinkie (or even a fuel injected Evo...).
I'm strictly a carburettor man
However... the MM system is a known liability, and there's lots of info on the US forums, as well as the H-DRCGB forum.
