Starter motor - general query.

I've just bought a refurbed starter for my '06 RT. Seller's part number matched the one on RealOEM for my bike, a Valeo one. Just took it off, easier than I thought, and it's a Bosch with a different part number!

Are they interchangeable?!

The refurbed one's just landed - it's a bit longer, the casing is slimmer than the Valeo one, and the housing around the pinion is a slightly different shape. I don't want to attempt fitting in case I mark it and then, when I find out it doesn't actually fit, the seller won't take it back as I've 'damaged' it!

Up to a certian year was Valeo, and then bosch

the nose if i recall is the same, the body on one is slightly longer if i recall

Ive an 06 and mine was a valeo

All sorted now. Spoke to Rainbow or whoever they are now, the Valeo was an upgrade to the original Bosch and is longer/heavier with 20% more cranking power - it's a straight swap.
