When in the Eifel area I have always stayed at the Hotel Forsthaus in Volkesfeld but I'm off again September and would like to try somewhere different. I'd be grateful to hear of inmates' favourite hotels in the area.

Bad Bertrich - my group of 9 enjoyed a stay at http://parkhotel-badbertrich.de/ last year - surrounded by nice roads, quiet village with one main street with a few bars, secure parking (not that it is needed). Room rate includes breakfast.

In Trier, the Hotel Blesius Garten near the Amphitheatre is good. Has its own brewery and 3 restaurants, from a rustic bar to a full service job. https://www.blesius-garten.de/

Try Motorrad Strassen. They have several suggested routes & lodging suggestions........... https://motorradstrassen.com/#overview,12145

Apart from the detail in this link, I think they still do a good old fashioned free touring map covering the Eifel, Mosel & Hunsruck that you can pick up en route.

Have a good trip.

Thanks for these suggestions. Although I'm familiar with the area, it's good to get personal recommendations. By all means, keep them coming!

We stopped in Monschau a couple of years ago and it was a pleasant enough little town with its own brewery :beerjug:

Villadelux Elbershof was the place we stopped in and though it didn’t have what more paranoid members of this esteemed forum would describe as secure parking it was off road so not really an issue. There were plenty of bars and decent restaurants within a 10 minute walk and the usual selection of roads in the Eiffel region to visit.

Not a hotel as such, they have a number of apartments but the one we had was really nice and had a large balcony overlooking the river. I’d certainly use it again if I was looking at spending a few days in the area.

Superb location, great hosts, excellent food,
Had not to long ago all their rooms refurbed with excellent bathrooms and showers
Sit outside close to the little river and have a pint
Walks to no end, castle along one of the walks
