Went to start my V7 Sport up yesterday (after two weeks) and electrics dead.

The battery had shat itself over the positive terminal so is no more. As well as the main positive and negative connections there at two smaller connections and unfortunately the smaller pos connector has broken off thanks to the deposit from the dead battery.

Just wondering what these two smaller pos and neg wires are for? Bypass for the starter motor relay or something?

Have ordered a new Motorbatt battery from Gutsibits and a new connector which will probably need to be soldered on.

Thought you were gonna remind me :p

Looks to be the main feed into your alternator/ignition.

It's not important so no need to reconnect :)

If it’s not important then why is it there?

Italian electrics eh! :D

Indeed, they are a mystery aren't they, just like you :hippy

So, to clarify, no need to reconnect as you don't need electricity going into your ignition/aternator. That's only needed on Jap and American bikes. Guzzi need extra virgin olive oil.

Andres

Edit: Don't forget the TPS re-set when you connect up the new battery, do you have a GS-911?

You are a very bad Hippy and will be excluded from the Yurt :rob

You wait till Andrew spots that connection- you are going to get it...

There was no other way to connect it all up.

This is a 45 year Old Italian. Anyway Andrew is used to looking at rusty old shite... every time he opens his Shed door. :thumb2

Hope this looks better Andi?

OK - Tricky -- #1 you have moved the live connector away from the frame - which is a start - but that connector should be sleeved to isolate it from other components - pop down to an automotive store and get a proper sleeved connector which will eliminate that crushed sleeve..

HTH ( and to save you burning your house down when that catches fire)
