Hello,
I am looking for a qualitie electric garage door opener. In the hardware store, I found some devices that cost less than 100 €. But I think for that price I can not expect much from them. I would rather pay a bit more money and buy me a quality garage door opener that will serve me a few years. That's why I am here to hear your opinions. Which electric garage door opener would you recommend?

Depends on what garage door(s) you have - but if it's an up-and-over door then Chamberlain are reasonably priced, work well and have been reliable for me. You'll find them online - Amazon et al

Any portable battery powered Angle-Grinder will get most garage doors opened....

One agrees ... if security is the real issue then replace the entire set up and go for a roller door system like a Horman Rollmatic .... ultra secure and tough and so so quiet.

The phrase 'up and over' is associated with 2 types of doors, canopy and fully retractable.

1-'Canopy door' will also need a bow arm conversion and a quality door motor to assist in the extra performance it needs to operate the arm.

2-'Fully retractable door' do not need a bow arm.

Chamberlain pro units are ok but they are getting left behind in regards to tech and they can be problematic if used with a bow arm.

Double doors ideally need a motor with a minimum 700nm pushing/pulling force.

For DIY Hormann units will serve you well, there promatic is the baseline unit for a single fully retractable door and supramatic range for a double door.

BUY CHEAP - PAY TWICE, the Chinese units are shite

Don't spend £2500 on a Hormann Rollmatic door fitted with poxy SOMFY Remote operation system................ 2 months out of its 2 year warranty and the one we had fitted at my mothers house went tits up (only used twice a week to put the bins out and then put them back in the garage ) .

Out of warranty so £100 callout and the only deal offered was a new upgraded motor package/ uprated controller and Whoop de Doo 2 new remote controls for £700.

Sounds like you picked a bad company to deal with, there's several nationwide companies that employe staff with no or little experience, a good company should not really need to ask for a call-out charge, also you cannot buy better than a somfy tubular motor, however when the installer orders the door he can spec the torque of the Somfy motor (NM) I see 25nm motors in single doors when really 35nm should be the starting point, 25nm is cheaper to buy compared to a 35nm so installer makes more profit, you as a customer would not know about this because you put faith in the installer.

Anything SOMFY comes with 5 year warranty and Somfy will replace if they fail shortly outside of warranty especially if the dealer/installer have a good relationship with them.

One thing I will say is somfy control panels are too complex for what is needed and wireless censors are a common breakdown, having one fitted with a curly wurly lead will offer years of trouble free operation.

SOMFY motor assembly may have a 5 year warranty but the remote control and interfaces only have 2 year warranty

5 year warranty
Somfy offers end product suppliers a 5 year warranty on all motors and controls. Specifically, Somfy warrants its motors and controls to be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal and proper use for a period of 5 years commencing with the date stamped on each product.

I fit Somfy products and have done so for many years, problem you have nowadays is window companies and garage door companies fit these products, they have been made to be plug n play however when there's an issue they cannot fault find or read the fault code or do not have the relevant experience to carry out a repair, so it's easier for them to say you need a new control box and motor.
A recent customer was quoted £900 for a Roller door panel by a nationwide garage door specialist (see below) I replaced the same control panel and a new censor for £250
