small tip, I use long artist paint brush with thick hair to push nice around hole, yes sound bad I know, only little is needed every year, tube will last 20 years.
Well....
Looked at the flap, put the ignition on - no noise? flap open?
So wiggled it a little but would not close. Followed the cables back to the motor, undone the 3 screws and cables etc, re connected motor cable and cycled the ignition.
The motor did not move. Removed the cables which confirmed that the flap was free moving. Cycled the ignition motor moved once and would not move again, tried several times and motor would not move.
Conclusion motor faulty. Luckily bike under extended warranty until October so hope fully will be covered as the motor.
Greased it up with Permatex. Tip with the brush spot on
