Ym1 ((Yds3)

Just purchased a rather nice Yamaha YM1 305cc. 1966 My second machine back in 1972 was a Yds3 and this is exactly the same even the colour and year. But being rather picky I am going to strip it down and check everything thoroughly.
This will obviously involve removal of the exhausts. So here's a question for you that know more than I. Are there exhaust header gaskets from other machines that will fit my YM1? Will the 250 Yds3 header pipe exhaust gaskets be the same even if I can find some without a daft postage from the States.
Any help appreciated. I shall join the VJMC next week who I am sure will have invaluable information.

Cant help with tech info - but the header gaskets MUST be a common size / int. + ext. diameter, so you should find something suitable easy enough. :thumb2

ANYhow, post pics - we want to see this! :bounce1

They were quite common and much loved here in the 70's as they took max advantage of a 350c.c. "rider policy". :green gri

Thanks all. I shall post a few pics tomorrow. Funny once you get into looking close at a 'very tidy machine' and your a wee bit fussy, a list of requirements grows.

Great bikes, I bought a new YDS2 back in 1964 when I was 16, great bike and always fancied another to rebuild, but don't see them about, unlike the Honda CB72 - Pity!
