Hi
Does any one know if it is possible to retro fit ESA shocks?
I have a 15 plate 1200gs ESA. I can get my hands on some BMW ESA lowered shocks front + rear.
Can these be bolted on and the bike sets up the ESA?
Do the shocks need to be calibrated/set up on a diagnostic tool?
Does it matter what position the replacement shocks were left in when removed?
Thanks for any advice.

I haven’t a clue really but if you haven’t got the button on the switchgear then add the cost of that in. Also check the wiring harness has all the relevant connections to take the leads from the shocks and switchgear. If all that checks out then why not borrow the set of shocks, connect them to the wiring harness but don’t fit the shocks to the bike and press the buttons. If they work then yes buy them and fit them. If they don’t work then I wouldn’t bother unless you know a way of getting bike’s software updated.
