The 1600 is a big bike, with as much luggage space as a small house. However, it is remarkably short of places and things to hook a simple cargo net to, particularly on those simple days when the panniers and top box are off.

Problem solved, with these little beauties.

The fold-out hooks were a great idea on bikes.

It’s silly not having good lashing points, on any sized bike.

You could make some up, I’m sure. I’d buy a set. The thing to get right is the depth of the ‘tag’ that carries the loop.

The trick to pull off now is where to place the second set of loops, as the bike’s curves don’t lend themselves too well. I thought about the footrest hanger but the off-the-shelf hooks (like those in the picture) are too deep.

I am going to have a look beneath the top box carrier plate......
