It’s an outrage!

Every town/city should have similar at least once a month

They've been doing it in Rome for more than a decade now. Namely they close the inner part of the city when smog levels are too high.
The only difference is that in London you can easily get around with public transport... Rome... no :D

Actually not that bad.

It’ll match the lack of public transport in Lincolnshire, that you bemoan. A warm feeling of ‘We are in it together’

Luckily for me in that I don’t use public transport much though most cities, Lincoln included, suffer from severe congestion AND poor public transport.

London, however, abounds with cheap and regular transport options so a free city day there would hardly be noticed.

Severe traffic congestion in London?
Never heard of it :D

The eagle eyed would have spotted:

A. The bus going westwards, juxtaposed to compliment the bus route sign

B. The complete lack of traffic on Cornhill, EC3

C. One Brompton cyclist, hi-viz

It’s a jungle out there.

Is that a tube vent manhole on the floor (middle of the lane)?

B. The complete lack of traffic on Cornhill, EC3

Impressed that you were on the streets at 3am* - and clever use of lighting too!

*unless you were wankered after a long night at the Worshipful Company of Reinsurance Mongers
