What that means is the pawl will ride over the holes till you are 'nearly' stopped, then it will drop in and the back wheel will lock up like a bas*ard. This is BMW electonics we are talking about...

Alternately stopped at traffic lights and starting to pull off the lock engages

Looks nothing like the ‘concept’ bike with minimal everything

.

Perhaps they’ll be introducing more than one model at the same time ?

3 models allegedly, no doubt BM will sell a bunch of extras just like HD.

Really like the look of a simple tech. But with my legs, I would have to rest those on the cylinder heads.

These will be limited production so consider them an investment..... sort of like the 1994 "Last Edition Airheads" sold in the US which buyers gobbled up, only to find BMW changed their mind and made 1995 and 1996 as well. Or the strongly hinted limited production, only to go away R9T.....

I like the looks, it's not for me but I can see the attraction. As has been pointed out though, the riding position looks cramped on the knees and with the cylinders there, there's no way to fit highway pegs or other options. To me that's one huge drawback that may well limit the appeal particularly in the US.

If they sell well, BMW’s accountants won’t make them limited. Look what they did with the R9T. ;) :augie
