Innovv k2

Thank you again for the useful information; I shall find and watch the YouTube videos that have been recommended. If I undertake the work myself, I too can lose small and important pieces of the machine into the "black hole" that is my garage floor!

Installed my Innovv K2 this afternoon and spliced the yellow Innovv wire into the red and blue wire going into the fuse holder under the seat by the seat height adjustment bar (see piccie from someone else) - Is this definitely a switched live ?

However, I used one of those splicer thingies from Halfords (like this guy does fitting his heated seat 9mins into video https://youtu.be/jPemJoU4jyM) and I dont think its worked......the recording unit doesn't fire up when I turn the ignition on :( I've got some of these arriving tomorrow (https://ebay.us/waeEPi) so I'll try those, failing that then it'll have to be the soldering iron..

Other than tail light, which other switched live have people used ?

You do not want to be soldering into the main loom. What you want is a piggy back fuse.
You will see two fuses, one is switched live. Take a fuse out and put this in...

Easy

Looks neat but adds a lot of bulk into a pretty crowded area on the bike. It also means the plug won’t go into the housing and I’ll need to ‘waterproof’ the fuse holder as well.

Can you tell me why soldering into the main loom (I assume that means any of the wiring) is a bad thing - that’s what the BMW techs did for my power to a go-pro.

Because it can be a point of failure if not soldered correctly. When buying an expensive bike i check wiring looms in the most common places and will avoid.

Surely it is better to leave no trace when removing items? Easier to diagnose if things go wrong. Your choice but prefer mine.

Fair enough, I understand.

My posi-locks arrived today so I’m going to try that first I think. Cheers.

Posi-Lock worked like a dream, all sorted now and camera coming on/off with switched live. I’ll post some pics of camera, DVR and switched live location soon if anyone is interested

Innovv K2 Install

Some pics of the install on my K1250GSA.
Switched live from the red with blue stripe wire going into little fuse block near seat height adjuster (front).
Front camera seems to get away with dirt, back one obviously gets it. A moist finger wiped over the lens after each journey seems to sort.
All seems to be working well, I'll post a couple of videos in due course.

Nice one. I’m still torn between Drift Ghost XL or the Innovv C5 system (don’t want a rear camera). Leaning towards the Innovv at the moment.

Just a quick question. Where did you route the front camera lead? Did you go under the fuel tank centre cover?

Thanks
Mark

I have just been looking at this Innovv K2 .. are you chaps who have purchased this happy overall ? It looks to be very good.

I've had mine for several weeks now, but unfortunately i've yet to fit it to the bike. I was waiting on some other stuff to arrive before i strip the bike down so i can fit eveything at the same time.

Yep, under the tank cover. Comes off nice and easy and then ran it out by the front seat height adjuster thing.

Very impressed with the quality of it, although yet to see video that’s not when its pissing it down...

C5 fitted to bike, and have to say, impressed with Innovv service and the camera system.

Have you had any issues with using this pick up wire on the bike?

Looking to order the K2 system but don't want any issues with the CAN Bus on the bike.

Nope - it’s been absolutely fine. Great cameras - would recommend.
