Help please.

I am having problems getting an original tank to fit on my 81 G/S.

It currently has a larger paraleaver tank fitted.

I have removed the larger rubber support at the rear and struggling to see where the 2 smaller rubbers are affixed.

The rear clip will not quite go under the main tube and that is with out the rubbers in place.

What am I doing wrong?

Can anyone post me a picture of where the L & R rubbers fit and what holds them in place.

Thanks Gerry

If I remember correctly, they stick to the underside of the tank....

They take a while to bed in. You have to apply pressure to get the clip over the frame tube.

There you go.

Thanks Bubb, Tufty and 2gses.

The picture answers my question.

No wonder I couldn’t find where they would fit to the frame :blast

Forgot to ask what glue to stick the rubber pads to the tank?

Maybe those double sided number plate stickers would do the job. If not, Evo-Stik impact glue

Thanks Kenny.

The residue on the rubber looks like Evo-stick.
