HELP ON BIKE IDENTITY

I've come across these couple of photos of my long gone dads bikes. I know they are AJS and Royal Enfield but can someone please throw a bit more info on what they are.

The cylinderhead on your old mans Enfield looks like a Triumph head; dont know if that's possible but here's a couple i've found; and you can see the differences;:beerjug:

Nice old 'photo's :thumb

VUA 941 issued Leeds June to July 1955

DVY 872 issued York CBC between July 1948 and February 1949

Superb, thank you. It all fits in as dad was a Harrogate lad and 48 would put him age 18 and the outfit was our transport to around 1960 / 62 carrying mum on the back and me and the dog in the chair. Trips from home to the likes of Blackpool were steamy affairs with a panting collie sat by your side.:)

Nope. It's an Enfield. Granted, the angle of view hides the rocker covers but they're the same as on the pics you posted.

A Meteor? Maybe but I think Enfield upped the size to 700cc in 1959 ish? Anyway, maybe have a go sending the pic to https://www.royalenfield.org.uk/ ?
