In case of use to anyone else.

OEM is organic Valeo. Motorworks (£79), Sherlock (89) and Motobins (59) all have pattern options. Latter is made by Repa (italian), others I don't know. M&P has a Ferrodo/Newfren item for £61, and SBS has one available on ebay for £90. TRW/Lucas also makes one although I forget where it can be purchased. Surflex (Italian) also makes one.

Motobins has a heat-resistant organic disc (approx. £100) which is formerly branded Siebenrock but has been discontinued by them. It was made by Motorentechnik in Germany and branded Siebenrock, but is now only available as Motorentechnik part. See below

Surfelx also makes a sintered part which is approx £125 from the UK suppliers - I forget the name.

Heavy duty / oil resistant discs are sold by multiple places: Motorworks sells one for £105 which is supplied by Emerald Isle, their Asian partner; Motobins has a Newfren one I believe for £107; SBS makes one as of the start of this year which is about £180 or 190 on ebay. And Siebenrock used to offer one, although as Siebenrock has discontinued all 4 valve parts, this is no longer available from them. As above, Motorentechnik manufactured the item and my understanding is that Motorentechnik declined to renew the partnership with Siebenrock but continues to make the part. It is available through Bayer BMW on their website or on ebay for approx £160-170.

For pressure / cover plates, the only non-OEM option I found was the Motorworks set for about £325 that I believe is from Emerald Isle.
 
My personal choice was not to go for OEM or a pattern organic, as I want something that will last longer given my riding style and the mileage I would like to get out of the bike.

I decided against an Asian/Chinese part simply as I was concerned about the quality, and I was told by a friend that he had heard of an SBS item failing. On the other hand I had heard from UK and German specialists that the Siebenrock part is very good and that they don't know of failures, so I purchased what is now the Motorentechnik part from Bayer BMW and fitted that.

So far so good. Bite is slightly sharper than the organic disc but not materially different. Will have to see how the lifespan compares in years to come.
 
I've installed one from Motobins last month on my GS and done 3K miles on it.
This was sintered Italian made option for £60.
First impression:
10min in to test ride clutch bites like crazy!
Letting the clutch out slowly with low RPM whole bike shakes.
I was thinking new friction plate it will settle...
After doing 3K and some off-road you think It would settle by now but it didn't...
So I'm really disappointed and I wish I've never bought this product.
Right now clutch is smother but I really need to rev the bike to get the smooth start.
In the past I've installed heat-resistant from Motobins and it was weird for the first hour but then it was fine.
And several valeo from BMW and never head that problem before.
Hope this will give you some idea.

Thanks. I decided against sintered as, although it was likely to last longer, I didn't want to have a much sharper bite. Heat resistant seemed like an unnecessary middle ground, although this would be beneficial in London riding, as I guessed the life would be similar to heavy duty but without the oil-resistance. Hence my decision for the Motorentechnik part. As per above I fitted it last week and so far it feels pretty good. One has to factor in brand new spring to feel as well, so lever pull is slight change from before, but am happy so far. As per my post, feedback from UK indy BMW specialist and German equivalent was excellent - both rated that risc their number 1 choice
 
is there evidence to suggest
pre 2006 (without outright abuse or an oil leak) lasts for 90k miles
post 2007 only lasts for 30k miles even when looked after?

I guess the change over came with the later part as it was designed to "help"
personally I want a pressure plate that can actually clamp it still, rather than gently waving a feather in its general direction in the vain hope it doesn't slip
 
I know someone with a 2011 GSA which did 70-80k on original clutch. He is a fast rider but also very sympatheric to the bike
