Does anyone know IF the Puig Touring screen for the R1200GS fits the R1250GS please?

Can't seem to find out except the hard and expensive way of buying one to find it won't fit!

Thanks
Sam

Puig touring screen fitted ok to my 1250 GS too.
I would definitely recommend fitting a pair of the Cymarc support brackets though, it's a tall screen to just rely on the original sliding bushes for support. (at speeds above 160 mph ).

Also consider the Puig ones - no clamping required and can be adjusted on the go up to about 40/50 mph.

Ended up cutting about 40mm off the top of mine.. so I could get some air when it was on low... high for motorways... great screen, but just too bloody hot in summer!!

That's why I keep the std one to switch - much cooler in summer

I used the Puig touring screen for five years on my 2014 GS LC, but agree it was a bit too effective during the hot summer we had last year.

I fitted an MRA Varioscreen to my 1250 to get a cooling breeze on tour this year, but I’ll be swapping back to the Puig shortly as it’s much more protective in cold weather, especially for the missus :thumby:

Do I NEED the strengthening brackets or is it OK without?

If I do which ones are the best and easy to fit.

Just fitted the Puig screen after abit of a struggle to get the lower 2 screws out, not much room.

Cheers
Sam

I would recommend you fit the supports. When i fitted my screen it became immediately apparent that they would be needed. Get from Mark of Cymark fame on this site. Or the same things from Nippy Norman’s site.

A LOT taller.
So is the Givi one.
You really do need the brackets.
Givi supply a fairly heavy duty stainless one with theirs.
I used the Cymarc ones on the couple of occasions I had the Givi one fitted.

How much taller is the Puig screen that the standard GSA screen?

Trust this helps.
The Puig on my 1250GSA is 85mm taller at the top in the middle and 70mm taller at the top towards the edges.
It's also slightly wider.
Ive got two of the Cymarc stabilisers which I feel are the best I've come across.
It does a great job but obviously we are all at different heights.
Just fyi I'm 6ft with 31'' inseam.

Excellent Dougie Danger, thank you. I've already got the Puig supports fitted in anticipation of a taller screen ..

Before I go selling my Gran for an MRA screen and the Cymarc supports; is there any other good cheaper alternative for better wind protection on a 1250GS ?

I have the PUIG, and ended up adding their spoiler (the drilling holes yourself type) wish I had got spoiler from the start.

It just tips the air that bit more.

In the warm weather I can tip the spoiler back so it directs air on to me, and it’s much cooler.

Cheers mate. Do they suffer from instability like discussed in this thread or are the supports sufficient?
