I sent over a pair of Oem shocks to DenzO for a rebuild so let me start off by saying some small businesses and multi national companies could learn a thing or two from Lucas's work ethic and customer service.

I got multiple Pm's through the whole process to keep me abreast of things and when Lucas found the front shock was f**ked he had a solution which was perfect and very cost effective. He even supplied a black spring from his box of leftovers to match the front

I will let the pictures do his work justice and I will finish by saying he is a very valuable asset to this forum and again the £12.00 a year I pay in subscriptions is worth it's self a hundred fold .

Cheers.

Interesting. Are these rebuilt to new std or to a better than new?

Hey Rugged path I'll PM his number to you or alternatively search Denz0 in the members list and you can PM that way

Hey Rich c
The shocks have been serviced and rebuilt with new parts where required. Lucas also supplied slightly heavier springs than oem from his stock pile.
I suppose the proof of the pudding will be what they are like when fitted and tried out. I have no doubt they will be better but I will post some feedback anyway

Just a quick update
I've had the shocks in for a few weeks now and can honestly say they are excellent compared to what they were like before. Without a doubt excellent service and value for money.
Cheers

I'm really happy that they turn out great!
I have a couple more pictures from the rebuild. A couple of facts first...
1150gs front shock is not rebuildable...
Due to the shock construction and lack of parts.
Instead, 1200gs front shock was used.
I head one laying about...
The shock was shortened and stock 1200gs sprig used(10% stronger then 1150gs) this works great as the standard spring is always a bit soft.
Them shocks look similar but internally are completely different.1150gs front shock has twin-tube construction(not like öhlins TTX)more like low-performance car shock. Standard R1200gs shock comes with a dividing piston and internal gas reservoir.
Booth shocks were stripped-down and clean all the wear parts replaced, the new fully synthetic oil was used and finally charged with nitrogen.
Shock body painted.
The rear shock also received a stronger spring just to keep the suspension balanced and it looks good as well.
I have a separate post about most of my work on the shocks in the hex-head section.
R1200gs shocks are quite cheap so this is a great alternative if you can't find decent 1150 shock
