Following this thread here about what upgraded suspension options I should consider...

I eventually chose the Touratech Extreme (Tractive) kit. I supplied my riding data, and they've now chosen my spring rates, which are setup specifically for me and the bike weight.

Had an email back with the following confirmations.

Afternoon Steve, these are the settings we have gone for and is what Germany recommend.

Spring-rates will be correct.

Touratech initially recommended you go for a 95N/mm spring but have changed it to a 90N/mm to get the softer ride for off-road but you will be able to get the correct sag with this set up.

Next harder spring would be necessary when luggage would be more than 50kg, or pillion. But not for some accessory like skidplate or crashbars. So don´t worry about that.

Springrate 90N/mm on rear is perfect for him, and with the hydraulic preload adjuster he can adjust correct dynamic sag in a range of 15mm on the shock (this is around 40-50mm at rear of bike

Suspension is on its way to us and should be with us within a week.

bike has too much static and dynamic sag,

but customer wants to keep a soft suspension

Federrate: 5,6N/mm

Federvorspannung: 7mm

PA: 3 Umdrehungen von offen

(Luftkammer onroad: 95mm)

Luftkammer offroad: 85mm

Druckstufe: 10 Klicks offen

Zugstufe: 10 Klicks offen

Hinten: Touratech Suspension Federbein Typ Extreme

Federrate: 90N/mm

freie Länge der Feder: 235mm

Federvorspannung: 21mm

ref PA+: 10,0mm

ref PA-: -5,0mm

Druckstufe HS: 10 Klicks offen

Druckstufe LS: 10 Klicks offen

Zugstufe: 9 Klicks offen

Just had a shipment notification that my Touratech Extreme suspension will arrive on Monday 4th November 2019.

That's cutting it too close now to fit next week, as I'm training on it over the following weekend (Fri to Sun). So not leaving enough time in 3 days, in case anything goes wrong.... and then no time for it to bed in and settle down.

So it'll have to be fitted after the 11th November now. :blast
 
From the pictures, I wouldn't have had you down as 102 kg. No wonder you need full preload on the OE suspension!

No I'm about 85kg just me.

But then I add...

- Helmet
- Goggles
- Neck Brace
- Base Layers
- Impact Shorts
- Body Armour
- Klim Jacket & Trousers
- Knee Braces
- Gloves
- Motocross Boots
- Sealskins socks
- Back pack with 2 litres of water

So there's another 17kg of stuff
 
Well it's arrived today, God knows when I'll get the chance to fit it :confused:

Got the rear shock fitted yesterday myself.

Wasn't too difficult, but had to remove the rectifier (which is very easy anyways).

Just rotate the shock around and wiggle it free from underneath the swingarm (which needs to be raised and wiggled up and down also). Took about 5 to 7 minutes to wiggle it free.

Bit more Gold Bling added to the bike...

What's nice is it's a much slimmer unit, so will be really easy to remove and service. Won't take long at all.

What I like about doing the work yourself, is you can also check over the bike.

Good job, as I hadn't spotted my rear sprocket chain guard had been completely smashed off.

Must of hit it hard on a rock when out trail riding?

Anyways, bought another one off eBay second hand for £20 :bow

yeah it good to do as much as you can and learn about your bike.:okay keep an eye out on the centre stand cir clip mines gone awol

Don't have a centre stand. I just lay it on the ground...
