I've been trying to wean him off putting lemonade and other soft drinks into single malt whisky, I had him dropping an ice cube in last week, but sometimes it's like flogging a dead horse
I've always had trouble drinking Laphroaig and lagavulin, I much prefer the Speyside and Highland stuff. Having said that My son recently gave me a bottle of 12 year Bunnahabhain and I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought

Here's my latest tipple and one for the connoisseur.
'THE GOLDEN DRAM'
.75 oz Aberfeldy 12-year-old single malt
1 sugar cube soaked in Angostura bitters
Martini Prosecco
Instructions;
A champagne flute, soak sugar cube with 3 good dashes of bitters.
Add Aberfeldy single malt and then top with Prosecco. Voilà!!

Just add a few drops of mineral water ( nothing chlorinated ), a gentle shake ( of the glass... ) then sip and savour
