Following on from this paint code thread

https://www.ukgser.com/forums/showthread.php/517250-Paint-Code-Beak-and-Tank-Cover

I decided to paint the rear luggage rack from silver to Storm Metallic Black. It was the only stand-out silver part left on the bike.

All the gubbins had to be removed before painting, so I had to firstly wax the paintwork for some protection, and then fit everything back onto it.

Took about 30 minutes. :thumb2

Didn't get a change to clean it after my last rideout, so apologies for it being so dirty :blast

What do you think?

I quite like it, cost me £100 to have it professionally painted :nenau

Looks Good!

Have you upgraded your steering damper, and removed pillon pegs?

Cheers :thumb2

Yes, the steering damper is now a DS-068B-NL1 - Hyperpro Damper CSC (Constant Safety Control) 68mm - Solid Black

Pillion pegs are removed

ESA has been removed and replaced with Ohlins TTX Shocks with ESA eliminator plugs

Exhaust system (Headers and backbox) have been removed (including flapper valve, servo motors and catalyst) and replaced with Akrapovic Titanium full system with Servo Buddy eliminator plugs.

Seats have been removed, and replaced with Wunderlich heated ergo seat.

Spoked wheels have been removed, and replaced with GS Alloy Wheels, which are much easier to manage for road use.

So I've tried to get rid of all the little weak/reliability issues and replace them with good stuff that'll keep me going for a while.

Black rear luggage rack looks good. I think I'd prefer a matt finish over the glossy one.

Cheers, it looks extra glossy at the moment because it's brand new paint.

Give it some time in the sun, and some surface dust and it'll settle right down :D

Did mine in satin , blended in well.

I would've gone Satin Black on your bikes as well.... because they are Satin Black :D

Warlord.
The exclusive is part satin black, part gloss black.
I like the satin for the rear piece, so might get mine done.
Warlords looks nice, but I personally prefer the Gs to the gsa.....each to their own tho’

Put some pics up here when you've had it done :)

Warlord, i hope you take those frame protector things off now and again and clean behind them. When i removed the ones i had on my GSA the frame was covered in grit and crap that had gotten trapped. Luckily my bike got plenty ACF so it saved any corrosion.

Yep, every main service. Clear as a bell behind them :thumb2

Was out today and got the bike covered in dust and crap.

Lads thought the gloss black finish looked good in the flesh. So now it's coloured evenly with dirt :blast
