I'm hoping members will have experience on the following.

Is it better to fit Heed two piece crash bars in steel @ £265

Or is it better to fit Crosspro one piece alloy bars that cover top and bottom @£190

Not after wise cracks :blagblah just bikers with actual experience of the bars.

Hi Boxter,

This won't be a full answer to your query as I have no experience of Crosspro bars.

I have previous experience of Heed bars as I had them on my XT1200 Super Tenere.

Firstly, the fit and finish is very good for the price and their dispatch times are super fast. I have no personal experience of how they hold up if the bike is dropped, however, on my recommendation, two friends who are my regular travelling buddies fitted Heed bars.

One fitted them to his 1150GSA and the other to his CrossTourer. They have both dropped their bikes during low speed turns and the Heed bars stood up to it well. The bars did not bend and saved their bikes from any damage whatsoever so they are fit for purpose.

Sorry I can't answer your exact question completely but at least you have more information about Heed crash bars.

Phil.
