You need a GS911 to set and recalibrate the engine idle motors and exhaust valve.

Can be done with motoscan too...

I have that with the OBD2 MX/LX (can't remember which one exactly) and I've been able to do pretty much everything on my old 2008 GS, haven't tried much on the new one but I expect it to work as well.

GS911 is better at troubleshooting very specific issues as it'll give you clearer messages, but you can probably get away with the motoscan if you know how to google stuff.... I have to say that they keep updating it with newer and more clear codes too.

I bought one of these and it works great on my BMW car. GS-911 for the bike thou. Different kettle of fish.
