I've spent the day helping a mate clear out some lockups.

In amongst all the shite is his old Bonnie and he wants shot asap. I have absolutely no idea what it's worth so need helping here please, can anybody out there give me an idea of where to even start on a value :nenau

The bike was a runner and had a chair on it with leading links. 15 years ago he took it off the road to take the chair off and put it back to standard and it stayed in his lock up ever since ~ everything is there plus a few extras, here follow a load of photos.......................

My neighbour has a very tidy T140 for sale - on the road MOT etc - he’s struggling to get the £5k he wants - been offered £4 - 4.5k...

I reckon £2.5 -3k for that....

We've already got one old Brit bike going, trust me that's more then enough............

Andres

Isn’t somebody bringing a bonnie too?

In that condition and with all the work required to get it up and running decently,I’d say about £1200-£1500 tops.

The bike is worth more with matching numbers.
As a guide I paid £2300 for a 1970 BSA A65, similar condition I suppose, and I heard the engine running when I collected it.

I think anything from £1500 to £2500 on eBay.

Looks like I’m a bit optimistic.....like my neighbour... a few decent ones on eBay circa £4k

They stopped producing right hand side gearchange T140's in August 75 but this is registered as 14th January 76

Do you know if this is a matching numbers bike ?

My mate has just bought a 1982 bonny. electric start. good running order with mot £3800. so that non runner must be worth £1500. if it's got a V5. with it.

Thanks for the replies so far, at least we have something to aim at now :)

Good point.

V5 is 1976; will check the numbers today.

It’s probably worth more if it’s broken, all the parts cleaned up and then punted out on eBay if the numbers don’t match but otherwise somewhere between £1.5-2k depending on how lucky he is.

Give those leading links a good scrub, spray them gloss black and on their own they’re probably going to fetch about £400 on eBay so it depends on how lazy he is :D

The extra bits are probably worth £600 to £800 depending on how much they are cleaned up, so £1500 for the lot would be a decent deal. It’s still going to take a couple of grand to get it up to a nice shiny bike even if the engine is OK.

I would think if its a matching numbers bike with all the stuff you have with it ??

Stick it some where safe get it running and rolling I would think in the ball park £1500 to £2K

Those forks are worth £350 or thereabouts on their own!

All good but defo a '76 & r/h gear change ~ maybe a Meriden end of line/parts bin special?

That's a given but he has a similar attitude to selling as I do; price to sell with the minimum of hassle and just get rid, move on............. :)

Anyway, thanks all for your thoughts, I'm gonna put this up in the For Sale section for £1800 for a few days and then off to eBay if that doesn't generate any interest :beerjug:
